Felton wins her fifth club title

WOMEN'S GOLF

     Aspen Felton shot a consistent 39-39–78 to win the Women’s Club Golf Tournament July 25 at the Monticello Golf Club.

     Felton won the championship flight by two strokes over runner-up Darby Kramer, who shot 39-41–80. It was the fifth club tournament title for Felton.

     “My driver was good,” Felton explained. “Other than that it just kind of all flowed together. I knew that Darby and I were really close going into the last hole. She played very well.”

     All of the golfers in the tournament dealt with extreme heat Saturday, with temperatures into the 90s and high humidity.

     “It got hot, but we just tried to stay in the shade and drink lots of water,” Felton said.
