Midland made good leads stand up in a pair of Tri-Rivers Conference girls basketball games last week.

First, the Eagles (11-8, 11-10) led by 11 points at halftime, and 12 after three quarters, in a 57-46 home win over Calamus-Wheatland Jan. 23.      Markmann scored 27 points on Friday, Jan. 26 in a 71-62 win at Easton Valley. Markmann completed her fifth consecutive double-double by grabbing 10 rebounds. Jensen had 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Soper had 15 points from five three-point baskets, and Arianna Hacke had 10 points.

“Our third quarter was very efficient on both ends of the floor,” Becker said.
