Freese, Sadler win football contests

Because our Sept. 7 paper was printed early due to Labor Day, we have two weeks’ worth of Express Football Contest results to report this week.

In week two of the contest, Brad Freese of Monticello was the only contestant to miss just two games. Brad’s entry earned him $15.

There were several entries tying for second place and in the end, there was a 2-way tie based on the tiebreaker, between Adam Heginger of Monticello and Gertrude Sieverding of Cascade. Both missed 4 games and selected 49 points as their tiebreaker (50) and will each earn $5.

Also missing 4 games, and their tie-breaker scores, were Bob Barta (48), Tom Luensman (48), Lisa Hosford (44), Janet Oberfoell (43), Mike Jacobs (41), Kathy Barta (40), Carol Jacobs (39), Dave Messerli (36) and Dan Cox (34).

Among the guest pickers, Dave Postel of DuTrac missed 6 games and Nick Miller from Ohnward missed 7 games. The week two contest had 38 entries.

For week 3, Dave Sadler of Cascade took home first place honors. Dave missed 3 games and selected the exact tiebreaker score of 42 points, and for that he will win $15. Placing second was Mike Jacobs of Monticello who also missed 3 games. Jacobs tiebreaker score was off by one point, he guessed 43, earning himself $5.

Also missing three games were Carol Jacobs (39), Dan Cox (38), John Howard (48) and Dave Messerli (51).

Guest pickers Jon Kyte of Schneiter Insurance missed 7 games and Bryan Barnhart of All Seasons missed 11 games. There were 44 entries for week 3.

Winners can pick up their prizes at the Express office.
