Funds being raised for famed statue to return

Seward Johnson’s sculpture, “God Bless America,” brought thousands of visitors to Eastern Iowa, and especially Jones County, from all over the country. (The sculpture resembled Grant Wood’s “American Gothic” painting.)

The Anamosa Chamber of Commerce and Thou Art Gallery is hosting an unforgettable evening to raise funds to bring the gothic couple home permanently where they belong!

On Friday, Feb. 14, a fine dining experience will be hosted in Thou Art Gallery at 106 E. Main St. in Anamosa. This will be a sneak peek of the almost completed building before the grand re-opening.

This will be an unforgettable experience in historic downtown Anamosa. A silent auction will be featured starting at 5 p.m.

The Anamosa Chamber of Commerce and Thou Art Gallery would like to thank all the individuals and businesses that have donated to the event. Please call LeeAnna Boone at the Anamosa Chamber office at 319-462-4879 or KC Kiner Wortman at 319-821-1424 with questions or donations.
