Garden Club meets

Club News

     The Monticello Federated Garden Club met on Aug. 24, 2017 at the Presbyterian Church. Bobbie Meyer had a reading about butterflies and how to attract monarchs. Minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved. Sharon Kell brought an arrangement with a Mexican theme. Donna Helgens brought a large kohlrabi to share, delicious. Sharon Hasler brought a bouquet that included dahlias from Jackie Coggin’s bulbs.

     Charlie Becker sent a thank you for a contribution to Camp Courageous.

     Clyde Meyer gave an informative talk about his military experiences. How we as citizens need to stay involved. Clyde sang a song he wrote dedicated to his Mother about roses.

     Kathryn Peters served a delicious lunch.

     Next meeting will be on Sept. 26. We will leave from the church at 9 a.m. to a garden center in Maquoketa.
