Garden Club travels to Maquoketa

     The Monticello Federated Garden Club went on an outing to the Hurtsville Interpretive Center in Maquoketa. Interesting place to visit perennials, acres of natural habitat, bees, swans and more. Ate lunch in downtown Maquoketa. Marla Walters planned this fun outing.

     The secretary report and treasurer’s report were read and accepted. Unanimous vote that officers will stay on for another year. President, Marla Walters; Vice President, Sharon Kell; Treasurer, Rhonda Meyer; Secretary, Kathy Lamont.

     Discussed flowers at Fountain Garden. We will work at enriching the soil in flower beds for better blooms.

     Next meeting will be a potluck on Thursday, October 26 at 5:30 at the Presbyterian Church.
