Brian Gogel with Citizens Investment Center in Monticello was recently promoted to vice president of Citizens State Bank.

Gogel started with the Investment Center in May 2001. He followed in his mother’s (Judy Gogel) footsteps.

“I worked here part-time during college and never left,” he said.

Gogel also recalled coming to work with his mom growing up, and staying late on Thursday nights, sitting at the drive-up window.

In his role, Gogel said, “I strive to help our clients reach their financial goals. That’s our number one initiative here.”

Gogel said all of their clients have different goals and expectations with their investments.

Gogel keeps up on the latest with the investment market, saying information is just a few clicks away on the Internet.

“It’s so much quicker these days,” he said, “and the outlooks are always changing.”

Gogel also keeps his licensing up to date in the insurance, brokerage and financial industries.

Citizens Investment is also able to serve a broader range of clients thanks to the Internet as well.

“We’re not just locally based,” explained Gogel. “The bulk of our clients are local, but we’re able to do a lot more now.”

Of the promotion, Gogel said it’s nice to be recognized for his service.

“Taking care of our customer and client base is an integral part of what the bank stands for,” he said.

Aside from his job, Gogel and his family have also invested in the Monticello community, living locally and supporting the community.

“I’ve been here for 16-plus years,” he said.
