   • Plugging abandoned private wells (up to $500)

   • Plugging abandoned cisterns (up to $300)

Paperwork must be submitted by June 25, 2023, to the Jones County Environmental Health office at 105 Broadway Place, Suite 11, Anamosa, IA 52205.

The Environmental Health department recommends yearly water testing. To schedule a water test, call the office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Homeowners may have their well tested once a year, free of charge, provided grant money is still available.
