Green of Monticello runs for Senate Dist. 48

Eric Green

Eric Green, a small-business person in Monticello, proudly announces his candidacy to serve the residents of Iowa Senate District 48.

Green grew up in the Monticello area. He is a graduate of Monticello High School. While at Iowa State University, he participated in the SAE Mini Baja program and worked for the Center for Sustainable Environmental Technologies (now, Bioeconomy Institute). He is the owner of Diamond Pi Company, a pizzeria in Monticello.

While Green is unmarried and has no children, he always strives to earn the “best uncle” title for his nieces and nephew.

Green takes interest in, among other things, ISU Cyclone athletics, NASCAR, science and tech, and politics–attending events when his schedule allows and listening to podcasts in the meantime.

As a restaurateur, he particularly likes finding new (to him) places to eat in his free time.

Green is humbled about the opportunity to be a candidate to serve ALL of the residents of District 48. He is strongly committed to meeting, interacting, and being responsive to the needs of every person. He is committed to being accessible and learning about their needs and hopes for District 48.

Green is committed to working toward providing greater resources and accountability of education in District 48. Schools need the revenue now more than ever to meet the complex health, social, logistical, and learning needs of the students. The resources provided to education are an investment in the district state, and nation’s economic development.

Green will strive for fair wages and taxes, which will provide every person in the 48th District an income that will sustain their family. He is opposed to tax breaks for large corporations if the tax break does not provide a substantial number of jobs with a sustainable Iowa wage. He is committed to every person paying their fair share of taxes to ensure the public service needs are met. Some key public services for Green include: education, transportation, economic development, and access to the Internet for every person within Iowa.

Iowa needs to ensure that each person can access training to ensure they have skills that will produce jobs for the local, regional, or state market. This will require investment in educational institutions to provide services, which will meet the current needs of every Iowan.

Green is eager to meet with every individual in District 48 to acquire their ideas, which he will take to the State House to move Iowa forward to become more prosperous and successful.

To ensure that all of these needs are addressed, please vote for Eric Green for Iowa State Senate District 48 this November.
