Hannas celebrate 50th anniversary

      Phil and Marilyn of Monticello will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family vacation at a later date.

      They were married in a candlelight ceremony Dec. 28, 1968 at Springville United Methodist Church. The bride’s grandfather, Rev. Clyde Scott officiated.

      They are the parents of  Jay Hanna (Stephanie Blankenship) of Houston, Texas, Joni (Tom) Knopp of Peosta, Jill (Kevin) Weber of Hopkinton, and Jackie (Tony) Schmit of Monticello. Their grandchildren are Wyatt Blankenship and Eliana Hanna of Hoston, Texas, Regan, Ellison and Bryant Knopp of Peosta, Luke, Eian, Kole and Lane Weber of Hopkinton, and Brynn and Brayden Schmit of Monticello.

      Phil worked as a veterinarian for 40 years at the Monticello Veterinary Clinic. Marilyn worked as an RN for 19 years at St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids and most recently as continuum care coordinator at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  They are both retired.
