Hein represents Iowans and its industries

   Where does campaign funding really come from?

   I am probably as guilty of this as anyone, but I think we all have a tendency to just assume that our candidates are receiving support from appropriate sources.

   Recently, I received a flier from someone seeking office and it stated, “Paid for by American for Prosperity.” And they listed their headquarters as being located in Clive, Iowa. Sounds OK, doesn’t it? An Iowa organization supporting Iowa candidates for office.

   However, their headquarters is in Washington, D.C. and well over half of their funding is from the Koch Brothers who are major players in the petroleum industry.

   So, how do you suppose they expect their candidate to vote? Would that candidate act in the best interest of Iowa citizens, knowing that may not be in the best interest of his supporters? Interesting, isn’t it?

   I am pleased that Lee Hein is supported by organizations that represent Iowa and its industries.
