Hermsens celebrate 40th anniversary

      Steve and Laurie Hermsen of Monticello will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a trip with friends to the Dominican Republic.

      Steve Hermsen and Laurie Schulte, both of New Vienna, were married Feb. 24, 1979 at St. Boniface Church in New Vienna.

      Steve is employed at Welter Storage and Laurie works as a custodian for Monticello Community School District.

      They are the parents of four children, Amy Hermsen of Stanwood, Melissa (Jacob) Hyde of Story City, Kelly (Matt) Hertzfeldt of Onalaska, Wis. and Tracy (Vince) Ramos of Marion. They have five grandchildren, Kade, Keaton and Kennedy Hermsen, Lexi Hertzfeldt and Dawson Hyde.
