Holiday fun offered at Central Park Nature Center

     The Central Park Nature Center is hosting holiday open house days on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

     The open house is sponsored by the Jones County Conservation Board, with treats provided by The Friends of Jones County Conservation and Nature Center.

     The following activities will be offered:

Dec. 18

     • View the exhibits and live animals

     • Animal feeding time begins at 10:30 a.m.

     • Check out a pair of snowshoes to explore the trails at Central Park

     • Enter the coloring contest

     • Watch or participate in the Polar Run & Reindeer Plunge taking place at Central Park

Dec. 29

     • Make-and-take or take-and-make pinecone birdfeeders and winter crafts

     • View the exhibits and live animals

     • Animal feeding time begins at 10:30 a.m.

     • Check out a pair of snowshoes to explore the trails at Central Park

     • Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate

     • Enter the coloring contest

     • Draw for door prizes
