Iowa Army National Guard holds patching ceremony

     Pfc. Alex Cabrera, of Anamosa, was part of approximately 70 Iowa Army National Guard Soldiers recently recognized during a patching ceremony held at the Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center in Johnston.

     This ceremony represents a time-honored tradition, where Iowa Citizen-Soldiers officially receive the left-shoulder military patch representing their unit of assignment in the Iowa Army National Guard.

     Cabrera, a 2017 graduate of Anamosa High School, a current student at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, now becomes an Infantryman with Company B, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry, of Iowa City.

     Cabrera is the son of Rene and Maria Cabrera of Anamosa.
