Iowa Poultry & Egg Foundation announces scholarship winners

   The Iowa Poultry & Egg Scholarship Foundation is excited to announce three scholarship winners for 2022.

   Created by the Iowa Egg Council and Iowa Poultry Association, the Foundation funds scholarships and encourages young people to consider careers in the poultry and egg industry.

   A returning college student scholarship in the amount of $1,500 is awarded to Brett Schoenherr of Wyoming. Schoenherr attends the University of Wisconsin – Platteville majoring in animal science with a minor in livestock production. He is a graduate of Midland High School where he was active in FFA, student council and National Honor Society.

   While in college, Schoenherr has taken part in the National FFA Convention, an academic quadrathlon, and worked for the Blackstone Cattle Company.

   Schoenherr shared, “I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge with younger people who are just starting to raise chickens and other poultry. I have also been continuing my education in the poultry industry by using my area of study as research for my classes.”
