IPSWA All-State


Monticello senior Tate Petersen was voted All-State in football by the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association (IPSWA), making the first team as a wide receiver. Petersen caught 89 passes for 1307 yards (first in Class 2A) and nine touchdowns this past season. Defensively, he made two interceptions. (Express file photos)

Monticello junior Preston Ries was voted All-State in football by the IPSWA, making the first team as a utility player. Ries completed 160 of 231 passes (69.3 percent) for 2,543 yards (first in Class 2A) and 24 touchdowns this past season. He also rushed 166 times for 1,421 yards and 17 touchdowns. He made 65 tackles defensively.
