John F. Reid Jr. May 15, 1934 – Jan. 17, 2018

      John F. Reid Jr. passed away on Jan. 17, 2018 at the age of 83. Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018.

      He was born May 15, 1934 in Monticello to John and Grace Stahlberg Reid. After the sudden death of Grace, he became the son of Earl and Celena Lehmann.

      He graduated from Monticello High School in 1952. He married Betsy Butler on Jan. 1, 1961.

      John served 24 years in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic, sold Metropolitan Insurance for seven years and worked at the post office for 21 years.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Myron and sister Jeryl Bacon. John is survived by his wife Betsy, daughters Sara of Live Oak, Texas, April (John) Poe and grandchildren, Evan and Erin of Schertz, Texas, brother Burnall of Cedar Rapids and sisters from Sterling, Ill., Amber and Monticello.
