John Null for Board of Supervisors

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

Few people know that over the years John Null has been asked three different times to run for Jones County Supervisor. We are lucky that he said “Yes” this time.

John is not a politician and was not seeking public office until he answered the call this year. We are lucky because John has the skills and knowledge to hit the ground running; he is a fiscal conservative and proponent of smaller government, and his actions are based on Christian principles. He is a true country gentleman who sincerely believes that everyone’s voice matters. John will represent those voices extremely well on the Board of Supervisors.

We will all benefit with a person like John on the job. He will meet or talk with anyone at 4 a.m., but will not call you before 8 a.m. In fact, it’s the Null family “8 a.m. rule” not to bother people during morning family time.

We will benefit from John’s small business experience and his approach to smart spending. He believes that if it isn’t broke –don’t fix it, if it is broke – can it be fixed, and only then look at replacement.

Just because a replacement may be in the budget, doesn’t mean that money needs to be spent. I agree with John that taxes should reflect a value to us, and avoiding wasteful spending is a key to that.

We all know John; he is like our “favorite Uncle.” He is the one you call when you need advice, a helping hand, a kind word, or just need someone to listen. We are lucky John decided to serve us and I encourage everyone to join me and vote for John Null in the Primary Elections on June 5.
