Jones Co. Extension offers theatre day camp

     This summer, Jones County Extension is offering a one-day Summer Theatre Camp called “Get In On the Act!”

     The camp is being offered to third through eighth graders to participate in:

     • Learn the basics of theatre acting

     • Use their imaginations, movement, and voice to create characters

     • Explore theatre styles and learn about audition preparation

     One of the camps will be held on Thursday, July 12, at the First Street Community Center in Mount Vernon from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The other opportunity is on Thursday, July 26, at the Monticello Community Building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

     The cost for the camp is $25 for the day, snacks and supplies. Kids are asked to bring a sack lunch for the day.
