Jones Co. non-profits raise $22,000 on Great Give Day

     The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque’s fourth annual Great Give Day, presented in partnership with Theisen’s Home•Farm•Auto, wrapped up at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, with 2,317 gifts totaling $370,099 raised for Northeast Iowa non-profits. This broke last year’s record of $367,453. This includes $26,550 in local corporate sponsorships.

     This year, 153 non-profits participated in Great Give Day, up from 114 last year. Since 2014, Great Give Day has raised $1,262,455 for local non-profits.

     Twelve Jones County non-profits participated and received 360 gifts totaling $22,299.80. Additionally, Camp Courageous won the first-place grand prize for most donors with 304 gifts, earning an additional $1,000 in prize dollars.

     Those Jones County organizations that received gifts on Great Give Day include:

     • Cascade FFA Alumni, 17 donations at $13,155.77

     • Camp Courageous, 304 donations at $6,406.01

     • Amber Community Club, 13 donations at $1,455.67

     • Jones Regional Medical Center Foundation, four donations at $385

     • Jones Soil & Water Conservation District, five donations at $310

     • Jones County Safe & Healthy Youth Coalition, four donations at $188.83

     • Friends of Jones County Conservation and Nature Center, three donations at $115.10

     • Iowa State Extension Jones County, two donations at $115.10

     • Aquin Catholic Elementary, three donations at $86.28

     • Jones County Historical Society, three donations at $62.04

     • Anamosa Community School Foundation, one donation at $10

     • Anamosa Library Endowment Fund, one donation at $10

     “Great Give Day was a great success for Jones County non-profits,” said Sherri Hunt, Foundation coordinator for the Jones County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. “Non-profits are so essential to a strong community and we are grateful for the many community members and corporate sponsors who came together to support them.”
