Businesses in Jones County have a new tool to launch, manage, and grow their business – the Business Lab.

The Business Lab provides a variety of high-quality business support services that entrepreneurs (including both new and established businesses) can access, at no cost. All Business Lab services are delivered remotely via video conferencing, making it easy to use these resources to grow your business.

Local businesses are what drive our local economies. From offering jobs to citizens to supporting community events and activities, our communities could not exist without the consistent and critical support from our businesses. Yet, sometimes those same businesses need assistance and it can seem like there is no help locally for them to figure a way forward. Well, the Business Lab solves that problem.

The Business Lab is designed to provide not just tools, but solutions, that quickly and effectively help businesses achieve their goals. Services include 1:1 startup, business management, succession plan coaching, website evaluations, website design bootcamps, peer-learning opportunities, and access to curated workshops and podcast libraries. Local businesses can access the Business Lab 24/7 and take advantage of the available services remotely, from anywhere, using this link: https://www.ruralideas.net/labs/jones-county.

The new Business Lab is possible thanks to a partnership with Rural Ideas Network, a national non-profit organization that partners with rural communities and economic development organizations to provide a robust set of services to entrepreneurs.

Executive leader Jordan DeGree said, “At the Rural Ideas Network, we’re seeing a growing number of rural communities across the country focusing their economic development efforts on supporting the entrepreneurs who are already within their communities. This ‘grow your own’ approach to economic development makes a lot of sense when you consider that more than 50 percent of jobs in this country are generated by small businesses. We’re thrilled to help communities like Jones County support local business owners.”

Always remember that JCED is here as a resource to your business and that we always try to help our businesses and communities grow and prosper. Anytime you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out by contacting me at director@jonescountydevelopment.com.
