Chair, Jones SWCD

Mark your calendar to join the fun at the Jones Soil & Water Conservation District’s 75th anniversary celebration on Friday, March 24 in Monticello.

The event will include a little history while enjoying morning refreshments, followed by a session on the future of soil and water conservation in Iowa, presented by Jim Gillespie, director of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship – Division of Soil Conservation & Water Quality.

A complimentary lunch will be served, and afterward there will be a listening session – the commissioners would like input on where they should be focusing their time and resources in the next few years in Jones County. The event is open to the public and will be held at the Citizens State Bank Youth Development Center at the Great Jones County Fairgrounds. More details will be forthcoming in a later announcement.

The Jones SWCD works with state, federal and private partners to improve water quality, soil conservation and wildlife habitat on private and public lands.
