Joshua Parmenter June 13, 1984 – Dec. 16, 2020

      Joshua Parmenter, 36, of Monticello, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec., 16, 2020 at his home. Due to the current health pandemic, private funeral services were held for the family on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 at Peace United Church in Monticello.       Joshua Charles Parmenter was born June 13, 1984 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Randy and Joyce (Chapman) Parmenter. He attended school in Monticello and graduated from Monticello High School in 2003. He was employed as a construction worker with Monk Construction in Monticello. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs, and spending time with friends, family, and his faithful dog Bristol.

      Those remembering him are his mother Joyce, Monticello, his siblings Jason (Nicole) Parmenter of Hedrick, Danielle (Marc) Hiler of Marion, Shannon (Allen Hubbard) Parmenter of Monticello, his grandmother Elsie Chapman of Monticello, and nieces and nephews Abigail Willson, Gaven Hiler, Taylor Parmenter, Madison Parmenter, Cade Parmenter, Adyn Hiler, and Seth Devault.

      He was preceded in death by his father Randy, and his grandparents Robert Chapman and Don and Viola Parmenter.

      A memorial fund is being established.
