JRMC adjusts visitor policy during COVID-19

UnityPoint Health – Jones Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has updated its visitor policy.

Effective immediately, JRMC is allowing patients to have one visitor at a time, per patient. Visitors allowed must stay in the patient’s room the entire duration of the visit. Once the visitor leaves the patient room, they must exit the hospital.

Visitors must follow screening procedures and must not have any respiratory symptoms or known exposure to COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Visitors will not be permitted if the patient admitted has a positive or pending COVID-19 test.

JRMC visitors will be required to wear a mask. At this time, no visitors under the age of 18 are allowed. Exceptions include:

     • In the Emergency Room (ER) both parents will be allowed with a child

     • End of Life Care may have two visitors and will be assessed one a case-by-case basis

In-patient visiting hours have been set from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visiting hours may change or be suspended at any time due to the pandemic or shortage of supplies. JRMC’s clinical team will make every effort to communicate changes as they occur.

JRMC appreciates the community’s understanding. Their goal is to protect their patients, staff and the community.
