JRMC celebrates activities director

Pam Goodyear

Team Members at UnityPoint Health – Jones Regional Medical Center (JRMC) are recognizing Pam Goodyear, Volunteer Services Coordinator and Activities Director, for the services she provides at the hospital.

“Pam plans, implements and evaluates specific programs based on the needs of our patients,” said Annette Wheeler, JRMC Social Services Director. “She designs activities to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, fulfillment, and improve daily living skills. Pam’s role is also unique in that she is able to interact with volunteers to participate-in and assist-with their activities.”

Team members are using National Activities Professional Week, which is Jan. 21-27, as an opportunity to recognize and publically thank Goodyear.

“Over Christmas, the Social Services/Activities Department adopted a family,” said Wheeler. “Pam made sure the family had multiple gifts to open. In addition, she helps our patients celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, Veterans Day and other holidays throughout the year.”

One coworker added, “She’s always on the move, constantly thinking of others and would give everything she has to help someone else out. Pam is truly a great asset to JRMC and we feel very lucky to have her on our team.”

Goodyear has worked for JRMC since 2017.
