Junior varsity Panthers edge Bellevue

Junior varsity

   The Panthers played host to Bellevue Dec. 9, and played just two quarters due to low numbers for the Comets. Monticello won the half-game 9-7.

   Sami McElmeel scored seven points. Hailey Henderson had two points, three rebounds and one block. Halle Recker had four steals, three rebounds and three assists. Natalie Henderson had three rebounds, and Claire McElmeel had two.

Eighth-grade team

   Monticello’s eighth-grade girls basketball team played host to Cascade Dec. 5, and lost by a score of 33-23. Mallory McElmeel scored 17 points, and Peytin Schultz added six for the Panthers.

Seventh-grade team

   Cascade defeated the Monticello seventh-grade girls basketball team 46-26 in a game played Dec. 5 in Monticello. Scoring for the Panthers were Peyton Ries with 12 points, Greta Cooper with 11 and Kayla Shady with three.
