FOOTBALL

   Monticello scored two touchdowns in each half, and stopped Camanche twice inside the Panther 10-yard line, on the way to a 28-0 junior varsity football victory Sept. 30 at Dean Nelson Field.

   Monticello scored late in the first quarter on a 20-yard pass from Brady Gogel to Gatlin Wright. The Panthers made it 14-0 right before halftime on a seven-yard run by Tait Luensman, capping a 12-play, 96-yard drive.

   The Panthers tallied twice more in the fourth quarter, on a one-yard sneak by Gogel, and a three-yard run by Luensman.

   Gogel finished 13-for-20 passing, for 226 yards and a touchdown. Dutra had eight catches for 110 yards, and Schauf caught four passes for 96 yards.

   Gogel was also the leading rusher, carrying 15 times for 70 yards.

   Juan Espinoza-Castillo was 4-for-4 on extra point kicks.
