With four wins in Saturday’s Old School Duals at Monticello’s Central Middle School, Panther senior Kain Luensman achieved a milestone, winning his 150th career wrestling match.

Luensman recorded his 150th win with a pin of Aiden Sullivan of Nashua-Plainfield in 43 seconds.

“It feels amazing,” Luensman said, “just to be able to do it here at home.”

His father, head coach Ryan Luensman, said he was proud of Kain’s achievement.

“This is a great accomplishment for Kain,” the coach said. “Reaching this milestone is difficult, as it takes four solid years to get that amount of wins.

“Staying healthy and dealing with all the other factors that can affect a wrestler makes this that much more rewarding. He has cemented himself into Monticello wrestling history.”

He became the fourth Monticello wrestler to reach that mark. Chase Luensman is the all-time career leader with 164 wins, Landon Felton had 156 and Logan Felton had 151.

“That’s a group of guys that I’ve looked up to my whole life,” Kain said.
