Kay Frances Less, 70, of Ralston, Wyo. passed away Aug. 26, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Mont. following an extended illness. 

Graveside services were held Aug. 30 at the Bennett Buttes Cemetery in Clark, Wyo. 

Kay was born Jan. 10, 1949 at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Bette (Hageman) Wilson. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School. 

In 1965 Kay was united in marriage to John Less and three children were born to this union, Randy, Rhonda and Stacey. 

After the couple’s divorce, Kay moved to the state of Wyoming, where she held various jobs throughout her years there. Shortly after moving to Wyoming, Kay was joined by special friend John McElmeel and they stayed together for the past 30 years. The couple enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets together. Kay also enjoyed flowers and gardening and was a Master Gardener. She also enjoyed her time with her beloved cat Sophie. 

Kay is survived by her friend, John McElmeel, Ralston, Wyo.; her three children: Randy (Stacy Martinsen) Less of Manchester, Rhonda (Marty) Husmann of Hopkinton, and Stacey Less of Hopkinton; five grandchildren, Zach Less of Hopkinton, Carson Less of Hopkinton, Jake Marty of Waterloo, Brandon Marty of Arizona, and Delaney of Cedar Rapids; her mother Bette Wilson of Hopkinton; one sister, Lynn (Kenny) Swanson of Necedah, Wis.; a nephew, Tom Wilson of Hopkinton; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Preceding her in death were her father, Donald Wilson; a brother, Robert Wilson on May 30, 1991; one granddaughter, Vanessa Husmann on March 5, 2011; grandparents, Clarence and Ella Hageman and Tom and Martha Wilson; and several aunts, including Rhoda Gore Hughes and uncles, including John Hageman. 

Thompson Funeral Home in Powell, Wyo. was in charge of the arrangements.
