Kelley, Blomme exchange vows


Morgan and Nicholas Blomme

Morgan Elizabeth Kelley and Nicholas Joseph Blomme of Cedar Rapids, exchanged wedding vows Dec. 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, officiated by Father David O’Connor.

The bride is the daughter of Doug and Judi Kelley of Marion. Her grandparents are Mary Jane Crowley of Marion and the late LaVerne Crowley, the late Al Kelley and the late JoAnne Johnston.

The groom is the son of Ken and Connie Blomme of Ladora. His grandparents are MaryLou Blomme of Victor and the late Ray Blomme and the late Loren and Dorothy McClenathan.

Music was provided by Patty Kelley, organist and Susan Schultejans, Pat Blomme and Barb Sullivan, vocalists.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.

Matrons of honor was Micaela Loewen of Cedar Rapids and Lyndsi Haddy of Marion.

Bridesaids were Laura Blomme, Erin Blomme, both of Ladora, and Becca Blythe of Williamsburg.

The bride’s personal attendants were Rose Heims and Jessica Damm, both of Central City.

Flower girls were Laney Blomme, Ruthie Blomme and Andi Blomme, daughters of Pat and Laura Blomme of Ladora.

Scott Blomme of Ladora served as Best Man.

Groomsmen were Cale Loewen of Cedar Rapids, Pat Blomme of Ladora, Mitch Blythe of Williamsburg and James Mende of Polk City.

Ring bearers were Knox Loewen, son of Cale and Micaela Loewen, and Parker and Brooks Blythe, sons of Mitch and Becca Blythe.

Ushers were Ryan Martin of Monroe and Aaron Timm of Atkins.

Gift bearers were Bill Crowley, Godfather of the bride, and Lisa Rutz, Godmother of the groom.

A reception was held following the ceremony at Epic Event Center, Marion. Host and hostess were Bill Crowley and Vicki Crowley, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Bob and Linda Blomme, uncle and aunt of the groom.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held Dec. 6 at the Starlite Room, Cedar Rapids.

For the couple’s honeymoon, they traveled to Maui, Hawaii.

The brde is a 2003 graduate of Marion High School. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training, a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Mt. Mercy University in 2012, and a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership from Morningside University in 2015.

She is a fourth grade teacher at Viola Gibson Elementary, Cedar Rapids.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of HLV Victor. He graduated from Warburg in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

He is a fourth grade teacher at Lisbon Elementary, Lisbon. He also coaches Lisbon JV boys basketball and is an assistant coach for varsity.
