Kirkwood Community College recognizes area students

Becky Thurm of Anamosa was named to the 2017 Iowa-All Academic Team, awarded to students annually from all fifteen community colleges. She was presented with her award March  1 in Des Moines along with five fellow Kirkwood Community College students. Becky will be finishing her liberal arts degree at Kirkwood this May and plans to continue her education at Mt. Mercy.  She currently works for Kirkwood in the Jones County Alternative HS Program. Lisa Folken, Director at Kirkwood Jones County Regional accompanied her to this event.

Brooke Snyder, of Hopkinton, was awarded this year’s Kirkwood Jones County Outstanding Student award, recognized Friday April 14 at the Hotel Kirkwood with approximately 140 students across the seven-county region.  Brooke attended Kirkwood Jones County regional as a high school academy student last year and  will complete her Liberal Arts Degree this May. She plans to continue at Mt. Mercy this fall pursuing a degree in medical technology.
