Know your voting options for the Primary Election
The absentee voting period for the Tuesday, June 7, Primary Election is now underway. Iowans can vote in-person at their county auditor’s office from May 18 through June 6. This is also the first day county auditor’s can mail absentee ballots to voters that requested one.
On May 18, the Jones County Auditor’s Office began mailing absentee ballots to those who requested them. To have a ballot mailed to you, you must complete a request form and return it to the auditor’s office: https://bit.ly/PrimaryABSform. Requests must be received by the auditor by May 23 at 5 p.m.
You can also vote via absentee in-person at the Jones County Auditor’s Office. Hours between May 18 and June 6 are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“It’s important to have a voting plan, whether you plan to vote absentee by mail, in-person at the county auditor’s office, or at the polls on Election Day,” urged Secretary of State Paul Pate. “I encourage all eligible Iowans to make their voices heard by voting.”
Polls on Election Day will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
