Larry Dean Larson May 4, 1942 – Sept. 14, 2025

      Larry Dean Larson, 83, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with a two-hour visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

      Larry was born on May 4, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harland and Grace (Burgess) Larson. He was a graduate of Linn-Mar High School. On Aug. 23, 1968, Larry was united in marriage to Donna Lea Williams. He owned and operated his own business, Larry Larson Painting, for many years until his retirement. Larry was a member of the Lafayette Christian Church in Alburnett.

      He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Larry is survived by his five children, Lanette Thompson of Marion, Scott Larson of Marion, Marcia Larson of Cedar Rapids, Michelle (Dan) Haugen of Cedar Rapids, and Kathy (Chris) Bzdill of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and four siblings, Jack (Jeanette) Larson of Marion, Shirley Larson of Cedar Rapids, Beverly (John) McGowan of Marion, and Richard (Marlyce) Larson of Bonita Springs, Fla.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 53 years, Donna Larson; sister, Betty Klingler; and brother, Gary Larson.
