LETTER: School Foundation extends appreciation for successful tailgate event

To the editor,

The Monticello Community School Foundation extends a heartfelt thank you to our community for making the 21st Annual Tailgate Party and Alumni Reunion on March 7 a great success.

This event reflects the generosity and spirit of Monticello. We are grateful to everyone who donated, purchased tickets, and volunteered their time. Your support makes a lasting difference for our students and schools.

We would like to recognize those who helped make the evening possible: La Hacienda for the meal; the 5th and 6th grade football players for cleanup; Kris (Kromminga) Riley and June Fellinger for decorations; Pete Temple for serving as auctioneer and emcee; Nancy Toenjes’ Foods Class for desserts; the Jones County Dairy Board for cheese trays; the Chamber of Commerce for beverage service; Culligan Total Water for bottled water; Camp Courageous for supplies; Citizens Investment Center; our school administrators; Judy Hayen; and Express Printing & Design.

We also extend sincere thanks to the many local businesses and individuals whose donations and continued support strengthen this event each year.

Since 1988, the Foundation has supported teachers and enhanced opportunities for students in our district. Your support allows us to continue that mission.

Please mark your calendars for next year’s Tailgate Party and Alumni Reunion on March 6, 2027—we look forward to celebrating together again.
