Library hosting ‘Family Holiday Trivia’
The Monticello Public Library is hosting Family Holiday Trivia on Wednesday, Dec. 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
“We are aiming for teams of two to six people,” encouraged Library Director Faith Brehm. “If a couple of small groups come and want to form a bigger group together, they’ll be welcome to do so.”
Brehm said it’d be nice to have at least 10 teams competing against each other.
Trivia will be emceed by Brehm. The questions will be displayed on a screen as she reads them aloud to the group.
“Teams will have a minute to answer each question on paper, with some extra time at the end of each round,” she offered.
Answers will be collected by Librarian Molli Hunter after each round to keep track to team scores.
You can expect seven rounds of five questions each.
“Each round has a specific theme like food, songs, movies, or New Year’s,” said Brehm. “Difficulty varies on each question.”
She said they formulated questions that kids can easily answer, but also difficult ones for adults, too.
“Hopefully everyone learns something by the end of the night,” said Brehm.
Family Holiday Trivia is expected to last about an hour.
The library recommends that people register is advance due to space constraints; however, it’s not required to participate.
“We do have a prize basket for the winners at the end of the night,” teased Brehm.
Be sure to watch the library’s Facebook page for pictures all of the great prizes to be won, including holiday movies, books, seasonal cards, and handmade decorations.
Refreshments will be served during the trivia event.
Contact the library at 319-465-3354 or stop in at 205 E. Grand St. to register.
