Lincoln presentation

U.S. President Abraham Lincoln (Kevin Wood) visited the Monticello Public Library on March 29 with his presentation of “16 Precedents (Principles) from the 16th President.” He spoke about what it takes to be a good leader, including principle number-one, “Know your principles and stick to them.” About two dozen patrons of all ages attended the event. Lincoln, who’s from Illinois, said the only time he visited Iowa was in 1859 when he traveled to Council Bluffs by train “because there were no roads.” (Photos by Kim Brooks)
