      Linda Fitzsimmons, age 78, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral services were held 10:30 Saturday morning, Aug. 28, 2021 at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where friends called after 9 a.m. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.       She is survived by her daughter, Christine Kramer and special friend Dan Wilhelm of Hopkinton, grandchildren, Megan (Austin) Kline, Kyle (Lynsey) Kramer, step-children, Patty Gassmann, Fish (Diane) Fitzsimmons, both of Monticello, step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg Lemke) Wade, Josh (Melissa) Pearce, Mandee (Jamey) Schilling, Jordan (Kali) Gassmann, Chelsie (Curt) Siebels, two almost three great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank, a step-son, Stanley, and a step-grandson, Jared Gassmann.

      Linda Lee Kaufman was born April 10, 1943 at Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Allen and Mabel Davis Kaufman. She received her early education in the rural schools of Linn and Delaware Counties. She graduated from Monticello High School with the class of 1961. Linda married Frank Fitzsimmons on Oct. 6, 1973 at St. Luke's Methodist, Church, Monticello. Linda was the first dispatcher for the JETS (Jones County Transportation System). In 1978 she started working for HAVE INC, (Advancement Services). She retired from there in 2008 after 30 years of service. Linda was active in Camp Fire in Monticello. She was a leader, assistant leader or served on the council since 1974. She loved to read and be with her cat Cuddles. Her family and extended family were very important to her.
