Lions beat blood drive goal

To the Editor and area communities,

     The Monticello Lions Club and the American Red Cross would like to thank the Monticello and neighboring communities for their support and participation in the Sept. 14 blood drive.

     We would also like to thank the Monticello Express, Monticello Rotary Club, and the Monticello Fareway Store for their support with the blood drive.

     • Red Cross goal: 72 units

     • Power Reds collected: 16

     • Presenting donors: 76

     • First-time donors: 7

     • Total units: 75

     • Potential lives saved: 185

     We also had some potential donors who were unable to donate blood. The Lions appreciate you very much for your desire to donate, also. Hopefully you can donate in future blood drives with the Lions or Rotary.
