The Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors (aka. “The Redcoats”) gathered in the boardroom at Camp Courageous on Nov. 29 to celebrate their 26th year of assisting the Chamber in fulfilling its mission. MACC Board President Monica Gray and First Vice President Tris Langdon thanked the group and reminisced a bit about all they’ve done. A cake was presented and a ribbon cutting followed.

The MACC Ambassadors were formed in November 1991 as a public relations arm of the Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce to assist with promoting the Monticello area as they are volunteering and meeting people in the community. Charter members who are still active with the group today are Sue Ballou, Gerald Retzlaff, and Judy Tuetken. Many Honorary Ambassadors are still in the community and volunteer when called upon as well.

At the meeting, 2018 Ambassador officers were elected: Gerry Retzlaff, president; Craig Thompson, vice president; Judy Tuetken, sergeant of arms; and Pat Recker, secretary.
