Manternach’s leadership brought mental health services to Jones Co.

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

I endorse Wayne Manternach for Jones County Supervisor.

Under Wayne’s leadership, the nine-county Mental Health Regional Governing Board brought several new mental health and developmental disability programs to Jones County. Any Jones County resident can call the mobile crisis line or the mobile crisis unit to respond to any situation deemed by the individual as a crisis.

Under Wayne’s leadership, there is also a new jail diversion program for people with mental health or developmental disability issues.

New mental health services for children are in the beginning stages. Families can refer children for outpatient assessment and evaluation for behavioral health issues. Wayne led the implementation of these services while balancing the efficient and effective use of county tax dollars for the residents of Jones County.

Wayne is a good listener and cares about the residents of Jones County. He is respectful when meeting with people and looks for positive solutions. Wayne works hard in the present with an eye toward the future, evaluating what is needed and he finds a way to move forward. Wayne is an intelligent, compassionate, and resourceful individual who cares about the people of Jones County.
