Margaret Ann Ritchey April 14, 1931 – Oct. 12, 2021

      Margaret Ann Ritchey of Monticello passed away Oct. 12, 2021.

      Margaret was born April 14, 1931 in Monte Vista, Colo. She was the daughter of Albert and Gladys Turner. She was raised in the San Louis Valley. Margaret attended Cottey College in Nevada, Mo. She then married Ralph Frank Ritchey on Dec. 13, 1952. In Canyon City, Colo. Margaret and Ralph raised their two daughters in Norfolk, Neb.

      She was an active member of PEO, most recently Chapter FP in Monticello. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Monticello. Margaret enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with family, and gardening.

      She is survived by her two daughters, Cali Sue (Kent) Beals of Anamosa and Carmelyn (George) Manternach of Anamosa; grandchildren, Josh (Heidi) Beals, Chad (Kim) Beals, Tyler (Robin) LaFave, Katie LaFave, Lauren (Tom) Helmick; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Chloee Beals, Bronson and Gavin Beals, Silas Carver, Kinley LaFave, and Saylor Helmick.

      She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, and a sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Thomas McChesney.

      Margaret will long be remembered for her loving nature and warm smile. Her door was always open to family and friends.

      A funeral will be held Friday, Oct. 22 at 11a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello. Lunch to follow.
