Marion shuts out Panthers

GIRLS SOCCER

Marion’s five-goal second half broke open the game, and the Monticello High School girls soccer team lost 7-0 to the Indians Monday, May 1 in Marion.

The Panthers (1-6) stuck with their hosts through the first half on a cold, rainy, blustery day, allowing just two goals. Marion, however, held Monticello to just three shots in the half.

McKenna Bell had four shots for Monticello in the match, while Isabel Williams and Shelby Hicks had one apiece.

Cassie Gillmore was the Panther goalkeeper, making 23 saves.
