McKean named chair of Ethics Committee
House Speaker Linda Upmeyer (R-Clear Lake) recently announced that Rep. Andy McKean (R-Anamosa) would serve as the chairman of the House Ethics Committee during the 88th General Assembly.
“It is important that Iowans have confidence in the integrity of their elected officials,” McKean commented. “I am pleased that Speaker Upmeyer believes that my skills, reputation, and experience make me the right choice to chair this committee.”
McKean most recently served as vice chairman of the Environmental Protection Committee and previously served on the Senate Ethics Committee when he was a member of the Iowa Senate.
“Rep. McKean is an excellent leader who brings a great deal of knowledge to the Iowa House. He understands the importance of working together to address the priorities of Iowans,” said Speaker Upmeyer.
The legislative session begins Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.
