MFD takes part in practice house burn

On Sunday, Dec. 1, members of the Monticello Fire Department participated in a house burn with live fire. Members spent time entering the burning structure, observing fire behavior under intense conditions, and learning how to properly extinguish the fire. 

Once the interior training was done, the structure burned to the ground. Members of the department spent that time keeping other buildings cooled down. 

The century home was graciously donated to the department from the Reuter family and was located on Jones-Delaware Road.
