MHS speech students rack up ‘ones’ at conference, districts

     Monticello High School speech students earned a total of 34 Division I ratings at the District Individual Speech Contest Saturday, Feb. 24 at Center Point-Urbana High School.

     Those who earned “I” ratings at district speech qualified for the State Individual Speech Contest March 10 at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School

     Prior to the district contest, the MHS students earned 36 “I” ratings and 12 placings at the River Valley Conference Individual Speech Contest Feb. 19 at Iowa City Regina High School.
