MHS students earn placings, ‘I’ ratings at conference speech

     The Monticello High School speech team competed in the River Valley Conference Large Group Speech Contest Saturday, Jan. 13 at Cascade High School.

     Nine MHS groups earned top-three placings in the event, and 13 groups received “I” ratings.

     The honored students are listed below.

     Groups that earned top-three placings:

     Group Improv – 1, Courtney Campbell and Micah Williams; 2, Jeff Carlson and Payton Jaeger; 3, Wes Henderson, Jon Mootz and Alex Nealson.

     Ensemble Acting – 1, “What a Contest,” Rileigh Lambert and Anna Loes.

     Short Film – 1, “A New Beginning,” Dalton Hampson, Alan Janssen, Evee Krouse, Ben Oswald, Chase Sternhagen and Abby Willson.

     Solo Mime – 2, “Musical Mischief,” Makayla Coffey.

     Group Mime – 2, “Exercise Mayhem,” Rileigh Lambert, Anna Loes and Macy McDonough.

     Freshman Readers’ Theatre – 2, “Ten Reasons You Should Stay Home Sick,” Hannah Ahlrichs, Gavin Baugh, Kehde Campbell, Reese Cox, Caleb Gillmore, Jaelyn Graver, Kenzie Mysak, Jasper Nietert, Delaney Peitz, Maddie Stadtmueller, Brooklyn Stark and Levi Temple.

     Choral Reading– 3, “The Voices We Hear,” Clara Finger, Kendra Foust, Olivia Goodyear, Chloe Gray, Sophie Gray, Payton Jaeger, Ashley Jenkins, Marissa McNally, MaKenna Patterson, Presley Tapken, Kiley Wall and Micah Williams.
