MHS students make All-State

Robby Holmes was selected for the All-State Chorus.

Three Monticello High School students were selected for All-State Band, and one was selected for All-State Chorus as a result of auditions held Oct. 26 in Independence. 

For band, senior Sullivan Flynn on French horn, junior Olivia Besler on clarinet, and junior Levi Temple on trombone were selected. 

Senior baritone Robby Holmes was selected for the chorus. 

Participants will rehearse in Ames Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23, and the 73rd annual All-State Music Festival will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, 7:30 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum on the Iowa State University campus. 

The concert will feature the All-State orchestra, chorus and band. 

Tickets are $23 each, plus fees, and all seats are reserved. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster by phone (800-745-3000), online (www.ticketmaster.com) or at any Iowa Ticketmaster outlet.
