Midland CSD adds stop sign to school route

The Midland Community School District was granted a movable stop sign by the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). The stop sign will be placed at the intersection of Highway 64 and N. Washington Street in Wyoming.

“This is a heavily traveled area by vehicles during the day,” stated Midland Superintendent Todd Hawley. “To make sure our students are safe crossing this specific intersection, we felt it was important to pursue a permit for this movable stop sign.”

The stop sign will be out approximately between 7 to 8 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless there is a day where school has a late start or early out.

“Please be aware of this new traffic device and understand that the safety of our students is always a priority for us at Midland CSD,” concluded Hawley.
