Monticello Federated Garden Club

     The Monticello Federated Garden Club met March 23, 2017 at the Presbyterian Church. The secretary’s report was read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read. Report was accepted. Marilyn Schneiderman gave a reading about garden catalog dreaming. Marilyn brought a beautiful flower arrangement given to her by her husband for Valentine’s Day.

     Upon a motion by Ruth Zirkelbach we will give a scholarship to a horticulture student going on to school. We will talk with the Ag teacher to help choose a student. Seconded by Marilyn Schneiderman. Motion carried.

     Plants for Fountain Garden, Community building and pots at fair grounds were chosen and started by Marilyn Schneiderman and Marla Walters. They have chosen a pink theme in honor of cancer awareness. We will apply for an award for this special project.

     Al and Julie Carlson gave a humorous reading about lawn care. They gave a wonderful music presentation. We sang with them and played instruments. We enjoyed this music program.

     Our next meeting will be 1:30 March 23 at the Presbyterian Church.
