Monticello finishes second in Senior EIGA; Goedken wins

     Kevin Goedken of Monticello shot a 32-35–67 to win the individual title, and Monticello finished second as a team, during the Senior Eastern Iowa Golf Association Tournament Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Dyersville Country Club.

     Goedken’s score edged both Larry Olberding and Brent Hinerichsen of Dyersville by two strokes.

     Dyersville won the team title with a team score of 732. Monticello was second with 759, followed by Solon with 768, Mount Vernon with 801, Wahkonsa (Durant) with 804, Anamosa with 837, Bellevue with 843, West Liberty with 844, and Tipton with 864.

     With Goedken winning overall medalist honors, team medalist was awarded to Chad Norton, with a 71, and team medalist runner-up went to Purple Lynch with a 71.

     Also playing for Monticello were Lonnie Chapman with 76, Jim Aitchison with 78, Curt Tauke and Andy Manternach with 79 apiece, Phil McDonald and Steve McDonald with 80 each, Kevin Bergman with 83, Diz Edwards with 84, and Tom Luensman with 87.
